Jean Paul Hymel of New Orleans receives Excellence in Governance Award
Jean Paul Hymel of New Orleans received the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools' Excellence in Governance Award during the LAPCS's annual conference Oct. 21 in Baton Rouge. Hymel, the volunteer board chair of Crescent City Schools, was chosen for outstanding service and dedication to Crescent City Schools, from holding the board to a high standard of excellence with compliance and financial oversight to working cooperatively with The Lens for student recruitment. Presenting the award were Caroline Roemer Shirley, Executive Director LAPCS; Kate Mehok, CEO at Crescent City Schools; Makiyah Moody, Governance Initiatives Director at LAPCS; and Joe Keeney, CEO at 4th Sector Solutions.
